The Master Retreat
Progress continues on what was once called a partition wall, but what we are now calling the “master retreat”. Last weekend Sandy and I tiled the floor. This week, while she did the WFH thing, I installed baseboards, crown molding (not my favorite activity), caulked and painted, hung sconces, etc.
We’re almost ready for the big reveal, but first I have to finish the bookcases.
Closet Upgrade
Between tasks and various waiting periods (usually waiting for something to dry) I was able to make and install some custom doors for Sandy’s closet. Well, you see, the master retreat used to have some furniture where she kept her sweaters, but that furniture is going to the kids, and now she needed a place for her sweaters where they wouldn’t get ruined with dust or by moths… So there you go…
Coyote Gulch Cottage
With construction classified as an essential service, and after nearly two full years, we are finally able to see some significant progress on the granny flat this past month… it’s finally starting to become a real thing.
No, I’m not doing that work, I’m just watching the progress.
First Harvest 2020
It’s amazing… you bury seeds in the ground, add a little water, a little sunshine, and look what the earth gives us! Our first harvest of 2020 (if you don’t count the lettuce and herbs we’ve been snipping occasionally).

For readers of the At Home with Smarter Exercise: Client Edition who were wondering about whatever happened to Sarah’s goat… wonder no longer.
